Often, we start by solving the division word problems in small groups (2-3 students) and then we consolidate our learning during our class discussion. This allows everyone to see the various problem-solving strategies, discuss our reasoning, and reflect on how we solved the problem. Here are some pictures of your children working hard and having fun -I hope:) !
In our classroom, students earn marbles for being "marble"-ous. I hope you enjoy reading our blog!

Divide and Conquer!
We have been busy solving division facts and word problems using a variety of strategies! Our division anchor charts show us that there are several ways to solve a problem such as drawing an array, making equal groups, using the related multiplication fact, repeated subtraction, and skip counting. I always remind our class to use the strategy that works best for them! Here are our division anchor charts as well as some word problems we have solved in class this week!
